Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, chances are you’re probably right.

I graduated in 2015 with my Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations while triple-minoring in sports business, advertising and nonprofit administration. Graduate school had crossed my mind many times as an undergraduate, but I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it and that it held no value for me – I was wrong.

Becoming One with the Jiggle – My Zumba Experience

In my 24 years of life I have never been one of those individuals who could be classified as “petite” or “dainty”. I’ve never had a thigh gap and lord only knows I was “well endowed” with a naturally thick lower body. I’ve always had the more athletic build and posture about my demeanor. It wasn’t until recently, within the past two years, that I’ve noticed that I actually like my strong, athletic, thicker in some places, body.

Sure, I could do without the stretchmarks on my thighs and I’d love to have a six pack despite my never-ending desire to stuff my face with carbs and cheese. But, at the end of the day, it’s all about perspective and all about how you choose to perceive yourself.

My perception of how much I truly liked my body was a bit caught off guard when I tried the latest fitness dance craze: Zumba.  Continue reading

I Met Princesses – It was Magical

I got to finally meet Disney Princesses at Disneyland and it was magical. I literally almost cried (the two people who were with me at that exact moment can attest to this).

This got me thinking…why was it such a big ding dang deal for me, a 23-year-old adult, to meet a classic Disney Princess in Disneyland? Well, let me tell you why it was so ding dang important. Continue reading
